Yarit, Costa Rican, and Brian, American, met right here in Costa Rica — and

though they live by the beach, their wedding called for something different:

lush green surroundings and a full view of Arenal Volcano. La Fortuna was the

only real choice.

Guests traveled in from all over to celebrate their destination wedding, and

the day began the way every great wedding does — getting ready, full of

anticipation. The ceremony came first, with the volcano rising behind them.

Arenal spends most days hidden under rain and cloud, being deep in

rainforest, but Yarit and Brian got lucky: the volcano stood completely

clear, witnessing every vow.

After the ceremony, they slipped away before guests arrived to see the

reception decor, then escaped once more for their newlywed session — reading

their vows to each other in private, just the two of them and the volcano

still watching. From there, it was back to the celebration, which carried on

with family and friends until the very end of the night.
