2. What is the best time of year for family portraits in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica has two main seasons:
- Dry season (December–April): clear skies, stable weather, and stunning sunsets.
- Rainy season (May–November): greener landscapes, more clouds, and occasional showers, with September and October being the rainiest months.
The choice depends on your preference—both seasons offer incredible scenery.
3. What happens if it rains on the day of the session?
Costa Rica is tropical, so rain is part of its charm.
- If kids are older or don’t mind getting wet, rain can be magical and fun.
- If you have babies or prefer staying dry, we choose locations with sheltered areas.
4. How long does a session last and how many photos do we receive?
I offer three packages of 1, 2, or 3 hours. They include a minimum of 35, 65, or 100 photos, and if more beautiful images are captured, I always deliver them at no extra cost.
5. How are the photos delivered?
Through a private online gallery with temporary access for downloading, sharing, and ordering prints shipped directly to your home through the gallery platform. (Prints are handled entirely within the online gallery.)
6. What should we wear for the session?
After booking, you’ll receive a full styling guide. Generally, I recommend comfortable clothing in neutral or earthy tones that stand out beautifully in natural landscapes.
7. What if my children don’t want to pose?
No worries. I work with games and fun activities so kids enjoy themselves and the session flows naturally. The best photos always come from spontaneity.
8. How long does it take to receive the final gallery?
The maximum delivery time is 30 days, but if the gallery is ready sooner, I send it right away.
9. Do you offer makeup or hairstyling?
I can recommend trusted makeup artists I work with frequently.
10. Can we take photos at our hotel?
Yes, you just need to request permission at the hotel reception to allow the photographer to enter.
11. Are there restrictions for family sessions in parks or waterfalls in Costa Rica?
Some locations require permits or do not allow drones. I help you verify this beforehand.
12. Do you use a drone, and is there an additional cost?
I use a drone only when weather and location rules allow it. There is no extra charge, and I use it only when it adds creative value to the final gallery.
13. Is it possible to combine family photos with a few couple photos?
Yes! While the main focus is the family, we can always include a few romantic shots of the parents.
